Susan Jane Brown (Western Environmental Law Center), Malhuer Lumber, The Nature Conservancy, and the former county judge Mark Webb, have banded together to bring enough restoration contracts to support the mill, community, and protect the remaining old growth in the area from fire. The story is told from characters on opposite sides of the timber wars and reveals many avoidable fault lines in our society.
