Public Screening: Sonoma State University Library - Depending on interest, library classroom or larger campus room

We are part of the California State University, and our campus is in Sonoma County. The screening is planned as part of programming for International Open Access Week: https://www.openaccessweek.org/. This year's theme is Open for Climate Justice, and the screening will be a couple weeks after the 5th anniversary of the Tubbs/Nun fires. So, choosing one primary goal for the screening in the form above was impossible: I went for the easy answer here.

Right now, planning is still very tentative, but I'll have a better sense on things in coming months, particularly after faculty and students return to campus in August. I do plan on making the event open to the broader community, but have no idea on how many people might attend. At the same time, I'm in discussion with a Communications faculty member to integrate the film into her digital film-making course this fall: The goal is that her students will use clips and Filmstacker for their central assignment, with the library hosting a showcase of the student films following the main viewing or on a separate day. Because this film addresses issues local to us, I also plan to reach out to local community organizations to raise interest, and a possible multi-disciplinary panel to discuss actions taken over the past 5 years, open science as it pertains to wildfire research, indigenous fire management practices, or even trauma-informed education and counseling practices.

As you can see, I'm still brainstorming ideas, but I hope your screening guide will be of use in this endeavor. Thank you so much for making this film available for viewing and remixing.
